Rules of Third
Leading Lines
Pattern/Texture
Fill in the Frame
These are the photos I have taken and chosen as my compositions. My top 3 photos are the angel, snow globe, and the lamp an numbers. I chose these three because I like how the angle of them and the moment I took them. They also have meaning to them and that's is why I chose to take pictures of them. To make the project successful I had to understand the compositions and also what themes or ideas should I take pictures of because some people take meaningful postures and some take the right picture at the right time.
Hi Courtney, I really like your focus on most of this series. I agree the photograph of the lamp and numbers is strong! The color and angle is gorgeous and it isn't too flat because you included the bevels/corners of the wall. The leading lines is also really effective - this is a fun technique.
ReplyDeleteCourtney, you got this one in on time, so if you make these next couple changes, you can still earn full credit. To accomplish "rule of thirds", I want you to go online and Google search "rule of thirds in photography". Look at pictures and/or read what it's about. The point of rule of thirds is to break us away from the usual, perfectly centered focal point. But instead using a particular grid of intersections to help us better compose a picture. The angel statue is too-centered - I can see that maybe the table surface is in the lower third, but the angel is definitely the focus so the angel needs to be at one of the intersection points. The one of the snow globe is questionable, I feel you tried to put it towards the right side, but I believe you can redo this one too and really make it more interesting with how you position the entire frame. Let me know if you need help but it's easy to just go on Google images and you can see how it works too. Email me when you fix this and we can definitely give you the credit you deserve. Thanks courtney.
